Hearing Aids Price Ranges

When you find out that you need a hearing aid or a hearing aid for both ears you may suddenly feel a bit vain or worry that it will change the way you look or the way you are received by other people. After this initial thought you probably wonder how much the hearing aids are going to affect your bank account balance. Unfortunately hearing aids really are an investment and not one that most of us can readily afford. Generally hearing aids cost somewhere between $400 to $1000 per unit. These are retail prices and some doctors can get them for their patients at a discount or they can be purchased on sale or through the insurance company for much less.

It’s also important to remember when looking at this price range that many insurance companies help to cover the cost of hearing aids when they are necessary. Some insurance companies will cover as much as 50-80% of the cost, leaving just a small portion of the cost for the patient to cover. Because the cost is substantial there are many financing programs available to those that do not have insurance that will allow for them to pay the cost over several months. This is the most logical way for most people to pay for their new hearing aids, even if they have some help from an insurance company. Hearing aids are expensive, but that is because the majority of them are digital and provide excellent sound to those that are wearing them.
